Simbu used Twitter to mostly dismiss fake news and make announcements about his new projects. In an audio message, Simbu explained why he decided to quit Twitter. “I can see people openly expressing hate over each other on Twitter. Whether he/she is a film personality, politician or any popular celebrity, people on social media think that they can criticise and make derogatory comments about them. Fake news, fake accounts, fake people everywhere on social media. My sincere request is please spread love on social media. As I wanted to stay away from negativity, I have deactivated my account,” he said

He added, “I will miss a few things. I have supported many films on Twitter. I will miss supporting them. Also, I have interacted with my fans and I will miss talking to them.”

This is not the first time Simbu has quit Twitter. He once left Twitter in 2015 and had said that his Twitter handle would be handled by his fan club administration. After a few months he joined once again.
