‘Enai Noki Paayum Thota’ To Release On July 26?

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota, starring Dhanush and Megha Akash in the lead, may release on July 26. The film has been facing delays due to the director’s financial problems and the stay order issued on producer SN Rajarajan’s films.

The advocate of Arka Media Works, the producers Baahubali who obtained the stay order in May, told Silverscreen that the matter was still pending before the Hyderabad High Court and the film cannot release yet. However, a source close to the film said talks are on between Arka Media Works and SN Rajararaj of K Productions to settle the financial disputes, and there is a possibility that the film will release soon.

Arka Media Works had moved the court on May 8 saying K Productions, who distributed Baahubali: The Conclusion in Tamil Nadu, had unsettled dues worth Rs 17.6 crore. They reportedly bought the TN distribution rights for Rs 52 crore in 2017, along with P Madhan of Escape Artists’ Motion Pictures.

The stay was also ordered on the Vijay Sethupathi and Anjali-starrer Sindhubaadh directed by SU Arun Kumar and co-produced by SN Rajarajan. However, the film was cleared a day before release on June 26, by Arka, who issued a no-objection certificate saying it was for the benefit of third parties with whom they were associated, and that the financial disputes with SN Rajarajan were not settled. The letter said that the stay on ENTP and Madai Thiranthu / 1945 directed by Sathya Siva, starring Rana Daggubati and Regina Cassandra would continue.

Director Gautham Menon’s ENTP was completed in 2017 and was scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day, and later during Diwali 2018, but was pushed to April 2019 after it got clearance from the Censor Board. The delays were because of the financial issues faced by the director, who reportedly could not pay the final installment of Dhanush’s salary. In March, the South Indian Film Financiers Association (SIFAA) also decided to stop funding his films till he released his pending projects – ENTP and Dhruva Natchathiram.
