Actor and director R Parthiepan has spoken up against the Producer’s Council’s restrictions on film advertising. The director said that in order to compete with a big budget release like Bairavaa he would need to advertise in full pages in newspapers. But with the restrictions, his chances are limited.

The actor has been quoted in an interview, in which he said that among the 1,000 screens in Tamil Nadu, 800 were allotted to the Ilayathalapathy Vijay-starrer Bairavaa which hit screens on January 12 and his directorial, Koditta Idangalai Niruppanga that released on January 14th was allotted only 200 screens.
He has requested the council to either give equal number of screens for both films, or to not restrict advertising. He said that he should be given either freedom or equality.
