The legal wrangles and controversies that shadowed his dream project ‘Thalaivaa’ seem to have made quite an impact on Director Vijay, as his latest venture ‘Saivam’ is being made under his newly floated home banner ‘Think Big Studios’.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that ‘Saivam’ will be a village based drama about a small girl and her pet rooster. As Vijay’s movies have always been geared for urban sensibilities, it will be quite interesting to watch how he handles a rural milieu. Also, the movie features no big names except for veteran actor Nasser, yet another departure from the norm for the director whose last few jaunts have been with some of the biggest stars in Kollywood. Sara Arjun of Deivamagal fame plays the lead while Nasser’s son Luthfudeen Basha and Twara Desai (playing a teenage couple) round up the cast for the movie.
GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music, while regulars Nirav Shah and Antony will be a part of Saivam as well. The movie is expected to have a May 2014 release.
