In an interview to the Times of India, Prasanth Varma confirmed, “Yes, it is officially in the works. I’m ready with the script. We intend to take the Awe franchise forward with the sequel.”

Kajal Aggarwal has been approached once again, and the director said she was impressed with the script but is yet to sign the agreement. Talks are on with Vijay Sethupathi to play an important role. “Unlike Awe, this film will not feature too many actors but we plan to release it in many languages,” he said.

He added that the story will be completely different from the original. “The screenplay and storyline will be heavy and intriguing. Unlike part one, which had multiple stories running parallel, this film will have just one story. But rest assured, it will be a crazy experiment; something that has never been explored in Telugu cinema before.”
