Director Manikandan has announced his next film. Titled Kadaisi Vivasayi, the film is currently in pre-production and will have a social angle to it. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Manikandan said, “I felt that this the right time to talk about the life of a farmer. Kadaisi Vivasayi is a dramatic compilation of their life.”
Eros International has signed on to bankroll the project. Sagar Sadhwani, Senior Vice President at Eros, said : “When Manikandan narrated the story, we believed it would strike the right cord with all audiences, regardless of age”.
According to a recent report, the team is on the lookout for a 70-year-old actor who will essay the role of the lead character – a farmer. Filming will begin once the cast and crew have been finalised.

Meanwhile, director Manikandan has two other movies in the pipeline – Aandavan Kattalai and Kutrame Thandanai. Kuttrame Thandanai is a dark thriller with Vidharth, Pooja Devariya in lead roles and Ilaiyaraaja as the music composer; while Aandavan Kattalai is a light hearted take on people who want to go abroad at any cost. The Vijay Sethupathi – Ritika Singh starrer has music by K, and is produced by GN Anbu Chezhiyan of Gopuram Films.
While Kuttrame Thandanai toured the festival circuit, Director Manikandan announced that Aandavan Kattalai will have a direct theatrical release, instead.
Both these movies will release next month.
