PETA has earned itself a bad name among Jallikattu supporters for filing a case requesting the High Court to ban Jallikattu. PETA claims that the bulls that take part in the sport are being ill-treated and fed liquor before the race begins. In January 2013, PETA came up with a video about the Jallikattu practices and how the bulls are getting injured on taking part in Jallikattu.
