Dhanush: “No Point Worrying About Criticism So Soon!”

In a recent press interaction, Dhanush thanked fans for their overwhelming support towards his recent release – Velaiyilla Pattathari 2. He said that he is ‘excited’ to continue on the same path, and promised to make more such ‘original stories’ in the future.

Dhanush also said that he is carefully monitoring the brickbats as well as the bouquets he has been receiving for his work on the film. “I am taking under advisement all the reviews my fans and critics have had for the project. The idea is to learn from the negatives and make them my positives in my next turn. I am a self-taught writer, lyricist and actor. Without feedback, I am nothing. I cannot grow!”

The actor also extended support to his music composer, Sean Roldan, who has been criticised for not living up to the expectations. Many felt that Anirudh Ravichander’s work in the original film, Velaiyilla Pattathari, was far more superior than Roldan’s. “Roldan has his own style. As does Anirudh and other composers. It’s not fair to expect one style of music from a person.”

Velaiyilla Pattathari 2 has received mixed reviews from critics thus far. Dhanush is undaunted, though. “Every work of art is open to criticism. There’s no use worrying about it now. Atleast, so soon after a movie release.”
