Dhanush, who is currently busy shooting for Enai Noki Paayum Thota, has signed up a new project which will be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu.
The actor’s spokesperson confirmed the news and said details on the cast and crew will be announced soon.
Earlier, there were rumours that Thanu has bought the remake rights of the Telugu film Needi Naadi Oke Katha, however, the producer denied the rumours and stated that he is not helming the Tamil remake.
Thanu and Dhanush had worked on Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, which was directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth. It was an action comedy drama and a sequel to the 2014 film, Velaiilla Pattadhari, directed by Velraj. While Thanu has produced several Tamil blockbusters, he last had the distribution rights of Vikram’s Sketch.
Meanwhile, the actor is busy wrapping up Gautham Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota. The director recently shared a picture of Dhanush and Sasikumar from the first day’s shoot. The shooting will be completed by the end of this month and the film will release in September.

The actor is gearing up for the release of Vetrimaaran’s ambitious film Vada Chennai which is all set to hit the screens in September. He is also shooting for Maari 2, directed by Balaji Mohan. The are also rumours that the actor is planning his next directorial venture.
Meanwhile, the actor is also waiting for the release of his first-ever international project The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, based on the French novel L’ extraordinaire voyage du fakir qui était resté coincé dans une armoire Ikéa ( The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir who got trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe), written by Romain Puertolas. The film was recently screened at the Cannes film festival. The plot follows a 38-year-old Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod from Mumbai who embarks on an extraordinary voyage across Europe. Berenice Bejo, the Oscar-nominated actress of The Artist, co-stars with Dhanush. Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty and Abel Jafri are also part of the movie.
