Complaint Filed Against Jayaram For Violating Sabarimala Temple’s Rules

The Vigilance Board has filed a report against actor Jayaram with Kerala’s Devaswom Ministry for violating the customs of the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. The actor, who visited the temple on 10 April, had played the Edakka (an hourglass-shaped drum) at the sopanam, in strict violation of the temple’s rules. To this end, the Devaswom Ministry is looking to investigate the incident further and decide accordingly.

Meanwhile, the Vigilance Board has recommended strict action against Jayaram. Reports indicate that this crackdown is meant to serve as a warning to other devotees who throng the Kerala-based Temple.

Jayaram has not commented on the issue thus far.
