Producer Boney Kapoor is planning to make a film on his ex-wife Sridevi. According to a DC report, there is a good chance of Kapoor directing the movie too.
Said a source close to the producer, “He’s definitely planning to tell Sridevi’s story in a movie before anyone else does. Believe me, there are several filmmakers planning to make films on her. Before they get down to it, Boney wants to copyright her life story so that only he will be able to make his wife’s biopic the way he wants to.”
There are books being planned on the life of Sridevi, too. “Several journalists and authors have approached Boney Kapoor and he may very soon select someone to write on Sridevi,” added the source.
Following the sudden demise of the actress in February last year, there have been speculations about movies being planned on her life. While announcement regarding an official biopic is yet to come, a reportedly unauthorised biopic is already in the pipeline.
Titled Sridevi Bungalow, the movie marks the Bollywood debut of Priya Prakash Warrier, the Kerala actress who became famous after a video of a song she starred in went viral. The movie is directed by Prashanth Mambully and will be shot in both Hindi and Tamil.
About the plot of the movie, Mambulli said: “The movie is a suspense thriller that paints the life of a Bollywood actress named Sridevi played by Priya.”
“It is a big budget movie and will have a few prominent actors from Bollywood too. The story is set in London. We completed the first schedule last week and the second schedule begins on January 15,” added the director. The director neither confirmed nor denied the participation of Prabhu Deva in the film.
The team also finished shoot for the teaser last week in London.
