Riythvika has responded to criticism that she won the reality show Bigg Boss recently due to her caste. On her social media page, the actor shared:

“To those who want to find out Riythvika’s caste..Those who say that I won Bigg Boss because I belong to a particular caste..I do not belong to that caste or this one. Go and search for my caste in your gutter,” she tweeted.

Riythvika says that whatever she has said on her social media is self-explanatory. However her spokesperson tells Silverscreen that the young actor was incensed when she was informed that many were speculating that her recent win in a popular reality show was due to her caste. “She worked really hard and garnered a lot of support. In spite of this, they still diminish her achievement by making it seem like she got a sympathy vote from the channel and that’s why this is all so frustrating.”

Many search for details about her background ever since she emerged as the winner of the show.  “As an actor, she is having the time of her life. She has had a lot of offers. But this whole caste issue has disturbed her,” the spokesperson said.

The actor firmly believes that art has nothing to do with caste and that this must be protected at all costs.

The actor has recieved a lot of praise for her handing of the situation. Fellow filmmaker Lakshmi Ramakrishnan praised Riythvika and wrote:

Lakshmy said that she would love to work with Riythvika and that she was a gutsy woman.

On the work front, Riythvika has the release of the Telugu version of Oru Naal Koothu. She also plays MGR Janaki in the upcoming biopic on the late AIADMK Founder MG Ramachandran. It is directed by Balakrishnan. The actor has also bagged lead roles in Sigai, Nethra and Odavum Mudiyadhu Oliyavum Mudiyadhu.
