Bhumi, 28, had an interesting year in 2017 considering both of her films – Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan – are considered as one of the few path-breaking films from that year. “I am happy about my choices and the impact my films have had… slowly and steadily I am going towards the life I’ve wanted,” she tells Forbes. She has Bombay Talkies 2 in the pipeline.

Mithila Palkar, 24, burst into the scene through social media thanks to her ‘cup song’. She later on became popularly known as as Meera Sehgal, the popular character she played in the Girl in the City web-series. While she has featured in several plays and minor roles in some films, she will be making her official acting debut in Karwaan with Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan.

Vicky Kaushal, 29, best known for his performance in Masaan and Raman Raghav, is steadily making his presence felt in the commercial films in Bollywood. He has some big films in the pipeline such as the Sanjay Dutt biopic, Raazi with Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar’s Love and Lust, Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyan, and a Netflix web-series called Love Per Square Foot.

Speaking to Forbes, he says, “Before Masaan, my routine was to step out with a bag filled with casual clothes, formal attire, a kurta-pyjama and a trimmer, and do the rounds of Bandra, Oshiwara and Versova [in Mumbai] to check if I was fit for any audition. After the film, I started getting invited to offices to discuss films. I got to meet the people I wanted to collaborate with. Masaan opened a lot of doors for me.”

Apart from these two actors, the list also includes singer Jubin Nautiyal.
