Bharat Trailer Review: This Salman Khan Film Tells The Story Of A Man Living Through Interesting Times

The trailer of Salman Khan’s Bharat – A journey of a man and nation together, starts with India’s independence. A grey-haired Khan describes that his heydays were as colourful as the number of white hairs on his face.

The elder Khan’s back is juxtaposed with that of his younger version. Khan, playing the eponymous Bharat, describes his younger days as ‘wild’ where he used to be a circus artist. Disha Patani, playing a fellow artist, shows up in these portions.

Then Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru dies and the nation is plunged into an economic crisis forcing Bharat to look for a job in the middle-east where oil has recently been discovered. Katrina Kaif plays what appears to be the role of an immigration officer. Her character comes across as a no-nonsense woman through the sequences where she cuts short Khan.

Khan, who eventually reaches a gulf country, falls in love with Kaif, who serves as a supervisor on Khan’s job location. A working still released previously, showing the two in the midst of a love ballad, is present here too.

Soon, Khan and his crew get trapped after an explosion happens during an excavation. Shifting to flashback, the trailer sees Sunil Grover who plays Khan’s best friend making way to accommodate Jackie Shroff – Khan’s father, in these portions.

Fleeting images show a young Bharat and his family enduring the partition riots. He is shown as the captain of a vessel coming under attack from pirates. He is also seen holding a missing-placard at the border along with others waiting for the return of a beloved.

Norah Fatehi makes a blink and miss appearance in the trailer. The movie also stars Tabu, Aasif Sheikh and Sonali Kulkarni. Varun Dhawan is rumoured to have a cameo in the film. Bharat marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar. Zafar directed Khan in Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Katrina Kaif was part of Tiger Zinda Hai and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

The movie is jointly produced by Reel Life Productions, T-Series Films and Salman Khan Films, and is scheduled to release on Eid next year.
