Bhadran Returns To Direction After 15 Years With ‘Joothan’

Bhadran, best known for directing Mohanlal’s yesteryear hit Sphadikam makes a comeback with Joothan. The movie, featuring Soubin Shahir, Rima Kalingal and Joju George was announced by Mohanlal.

Bhadran has directed movies like Olympian Antony Adam and Uncle Bun in the past. His last directorial credit came in 2005 with Mohanlal’s Udayon. The movie failed to elicit much response at the box office. He has now announced his return to direction with Joothan. The film, scripted by Suresh Kumar, will see State Award winner Soubin Shahir playing a Jewish character. “The movie has got mystery, thrill and also romance. Soubin plays a Jewish character named Eo Eliyavu Kohan in the movie and it’s going to be one the best roles he has essayed so far,” Kumar was quoted in a ToI report. Award-winning actor Indrans is also part of the movie.

The makers organized a poster designing competition for the movie to pick two winners who would get to work as assistant directors on the movie. Joothan goes on floors by the end of June.
