Baahubali Distributor Calls Producer’s Allegations Propaganda

Rajarajan of K Productions, the company that distributed Baahubali 2 in the state, has responded to the producers of the movie who claimed he owed them unsettled debts. Rajarajan said that the matter has not been adjudicated by any court and requested the people not to get carried away by these claims.

Terming the claims made by Shobhu Yarlagadda’s Arka Media Works as ‘propoganda,’ K Productions said that the interim order passed by the Hyderabad court in favour of the producers would be challenged by them. The company was yet to receive a copy of the order, he said. He also said that they had to incur losses as Arka Media Works breached the terms of the agreement of the contract.

It had been previously reported that Rajarajan had bought the theatrical rights to the second part of the movie for Rs. 52 crores. According to a press release issued by the producers, Rajarajan presented them with a cheque amounting to Rs. 17.6 crores that was dishonoured by the bank in August owing to lack of sufficient funds.

Following this, Arka Media Works approached a Hyderabad Court that directed Rajarajan to pay the company the amount within a week, failing which his bank accounts would be attached. The producers have claimed that Rajarajan, who had appeared during the case to contest the claims, had failed to pay the money. The producers issued a press release last week stating that they were undertaking steps to attach his bank accounts.
