Ayushmann Khurrana has wrapped up shoot for director Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15, an upcoming Hindi film based on Article 15 of the constitution which prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or birth place.
Ayushmann will be seen as a police officer for the first time. He announced on twitter, “Wrapped up a film which will become the most relevant and important film of Indian cinema. Thank you Anubhav Sinha sir for giving me this gem and also writing the most real cop role ever.”

The movie is written by Gaurav Solanki along with Anubhav Sinha of Mulk fame. Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa star in important roles.
The filmmakers have said that the storyline is based on the socio-political situation of the country, drawing inferences from events researched during the last 6 months. “It is an investigative drama where the audience too is an accused party. A very challenging film that needs an extraordinary actor like Ayushmann,” Anubhav Sinha said in a statement.
Ayshmann also said, “I’m always intrigued by the socio-political situation of our country. We hardly see films which present the situation in an unbiased way. Anubhav is one such director who understands the complexities of our country. I loved Mulk. It is the most balanced film based on communalism and extremism,” as reported by The Quint.
The film is produced by Benaras Media Works, and has been shot across Lucknow. The first-look poster released last month, after the movie went on floors on March 1.
