Ashok Selvan, Director Prasanth Pandiyaraj Team Up For ‘Jack’

Actor Ashok Selvan is all set to team up with director Prasanth Pandiyaraj for their next film titled Jack. The title and the first-look poster were unveiled on Thursday. Pandiyaraj’s last directorial was Bruce Lee with GV Prakash Kumar.

The film focuses on the relationship between an Army dog and a soldier. “I had written the script some time back. It demanded some research as the story was about a well-trained dog belonging to the Army,” the director told Silverscreen.

“This is not just an animal adventure film. The story is based on the emotional bond shared between the hero, Ashok Selvan and the dog. The film will also have war sequences,” he added.

Kenanya Films, which has produced films like Thirudan Police, Oru Naal Koothu, Bruce Lee, Server Sundaram, and Dulquer Salman’s Vaan in the past, will be funding this film.

About the lead actor, producer Selvakumar of Kenanya films said, “Ashok Selvan, with his pan-Indian looks, can fit into any genre. His physique suits the role of an army man as well.”

Aiming to release the film next year summer, the shooting of the film will be start from mid October. While Gokul Benoy is the cinematographer, Justin Prabhakaran, who composed for Vijay Sethupathi’s Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, is the music director of the film. Dilip Subbarayan will take care of the action sequences and Baba Baskar will handle choreography.

Ashok Selvan, who was last seen in T.J. Gnanavel’s Kootathil Oruthan, is busy with his other projects like Oxygen, directed by Ananda Krishnan of Metro fame, Nenjamellam Kadhal directed by Nirman and a Netflix drama Sometimes, directed by Priyadarshan.
