Cinema Express quoted a source as saying, “Talks have been initiated with the makers of the original, and both parties will reach an agreement soon.” There has not been any official word on the remake.

“It is too early to talk about the remake. Ram is currently in Goa shooting for iSmart Shankar. He is yet to watch the Tamil film, and nothing has been confirmed yet,” said Ravi Kishore.

Thadam, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, features Arun Vijay in dual roles, besides Tanya Hope and Sonia Agarwal. The movie released on March 1 and has been garnering favourable reviews from critics and the audience alike.

Meanwhile, Arun Vijay is preparing for his role in Boxer. Directed by newcomer Vivek, a former associate of Bala, the movie is produced by V Mathiyalagan under the banner of Etcectra Entertainment. “It is a sports-based film – both emotional and inspirational. The script demands physical and mental preparation,” the actor had said while speaking to Silverscreen.

“The movie includes both freestyle boxing and martial arts, and stunt choreographer Peter Hein has put me in touch with some of the best trainers,” the actor said in a statement.

Ritika Singh will play a sports journalist in the movie. “I wanted someone who knows sports and can act well. Ritika is a mix of both. Her role is an important one. In fact, after I roped her in, I added several layers to her character based on her real-life skills. When she heard the script, she was very excited,” the director was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Markus A Lujungbern has been roped in as cinematographer for Boxer and Leon James is the music composer.
