Actor Arun Vijay’s new film Boxer will go on floors in March, according to a statement issued by the movie’s team. Directed by debutant Vivek, a former associate of Bala, the movie is produced by V. Mathiyalagan under the banner of Etcectra Entertainment.

The actor had recently announced the movie on Twitter.

Elaborating on the tweet, he said in the statement, “It has been my dream to do a sports-based film and I am completely charged up. The script is a mix of emotional and inspiring elements that instantly appealed to me. Conventional sports-based films have had protagonists who struggle initially only to emerges victorious at the end. This film, however, has done away with the underdog story. Instead, the hero is a top league boxer who has to confront his internal problems to move forward.”

The actor had also spoken to Silverscreen recently, and said, “It is a sports-based film – both emotional and inspirational at the same time. The script demands physical and mental preparation, which I will begin shortly.”
