Kher is beyond excited for his Hollywood project, calling it a ‘very special film‘. “I also get to share screen space with some of the biggest talents including the legendary actress Holly Hunter, Ray Romano (from Everybody Loves Raymond) and Zoe Kazan (of Ruby Sparks fame), who is the celebrated playwright-author Elia Kazan’s grand daughter. Just spending time with them is going to be so enriching for me. Not to mention I have a fabulous role too!,” he said.

Essentially a romantic-comedy, the film is directed by Michael Showalter of Hello! My Name Is Doris fame and produced by Primetime Emmy-winner Judd Apatow. The film’s shooting was wrapped up in June this year, with Kher sharing photos with his co-stars.

Incidentally, the 61-year-old actor’s 501st film is also a Hollywood film titled Hotel Mumbai, reportedly based on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai’s five star hotels. Chronicling the true stories of survivors of the terrorist attack, parts of the film were shot in the south Australian city of Adelaide. The film also stars Jason Isaacs, Armie Hammer and Dev Patel.

He also has another Hollywood film with Gerard Butler and William Dafoe titled The Headhunter’s Calling, scheduled to release next month.

Big Sick, however, will reportedly release next year.
