‘Angamaly Diaries’ Actor Antony Varghese Part of Vijay’s ‘Thalapathy 64’?

Malayalam actor Antony Varghese is said to be on board Vijay’s Thalapathy 64, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

According to a report by India Glitz, talks with the actor are on. However, the spokesperson for the film says nothing can be confirmed and the cast is not finalised. Antony is best known for his Malayalam debut Angamaly Diaries (2017), in which he played the lead as Vincent Pepe, and later acted in Swathandriam Ardharathriyil.

Reports say that most of the crew from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming Kaithi is on board for Thalapathy 64 too. Anirudh Ravichander is said to be the composer, Sathyan Sooryan as the cinematograper, Philomin Raj as the editor, and Xavier Britto, the producer.

The film is said to have two heroines, and it was initally speculated that Rashmika Mandanna, who has expressed her interest to work with Vijay, and Raashi Khanna have signed up. However, Rashmika recently said during a press meet, “People have been asking me if I’ve signed a film with Vijay. You know, I wish that these rumours come true. If I get an opportunity, I can’t wait to work with Vijay. Since everybody is asking me, I really wish I get to work with him.”

Reports also say actor Arjun Sarja plays the antagonist. However, he is also said to be in talks with director Shankar to play the antagonist in the sequel of Mudhalvan, starring Vijay in the lead. Vijay’s manager Jegadish, who is the line producer of the film, earlier told Silverscreen that nothing has been finalised, and official announcements must be awaited.

Vijay is gearing up for the release of his 63rd film, the Atlee directorial Bigil, co-starring Nayanthara. The film is an investigative thriller, starring Vijay in a dual role. It is scheduled to release during Diwali this year.

Following this, he has the film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, director Shankar’s Mudhalvan 2, and a film with director Mohan Raja.
