Amitabh Bachchan-SJ Suryah Starrer ‘Uyarndha Manidhan’ Faces Roadblock

Uyarndha Manithan Movie Stills Starring Amitabh Bachchan, SJ Suryah

Director Tha Tamilvannan’s Uyarndha Manidhan is facing a roadblock because of an issue between Amitabh Bachchan and the producers of the film. SJ Suryah, who co-stars with Amitabh, will be traveling to Mumbai to help sort the matter after his film Monster releases on May 17.

SJ Suryah’s message was posted on the film’s PR twitter account. He said that both he and Tamilvannan had already dealt with many issues for the film to get to this stage. Amitabh had also loved and respected their work, as was seen in his tweets when the film was in the first schedule. Suryah was confident about taking the project forward soon.

Silverscreen has reached out to the actor-director for further details and will update the copy when he responds.

The bilingual, which is Amitabh’s first Tamil film and SJ Suryah’s first one in Hindi, is being jointly produced by Thiruchendur Murugan Productions and Five Elements Pictures.

The film was announced in August last year, with Rajinikanth launching the first look. Amitabh, who had a packed schedule with many commercials and Kaun Banega Crorepati, had asked the team if they could complete his shoot in 35 days, to which they agreed. Ramya Krishnan later came on board, and she will be seen with Amitabh two decades after Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

In March and April, when shooting for the film was in full swing, both Amitabh and SJ Suryah shared pictures of their first-look and moments from sets; these went viral on Twitter.

The film’s title Uyarntha Manithan is a reference to Amitabh Bachchan’s height, and is inspired by the 1968 Sivaji Ganesan-starrer of the same name. The Hindi film has been titled Tera Yaar Hoon Mein.

Amitabh will be shortly making his debut in Telugu too. He stars alongside Chiranjeevi in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The movie, produced by Ram Charan, also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupati and Tamannaah.
