In an interview with The Times of India, actress Amala Akkineni says she will play a guest role in her comeback film with Sathya co-star Kamal Haasan, directed by TK Rajeev Kumar. The film will be shot in Malayalam and Tamil. She declined to comment on whether she would be paired opposite Kamal Haasan.

Reminiscing over her Pesum Padam days, Amala said that Kamal Haasan had helped her when she was struggling, during her initial stages of her career. Amala also said she was open to offers and would accept roles in Tamil films as well. She said, “If Kamalji calls me for a full-fledged role, I would happily accept it without any dilemma.”
Amala Akkineni’s last Tamil film was Karpura Mullai in 1991. She returned to the small screen with the drama series Uyirmei.
