Allu Sirish holds onto a skateboard as he gets ready to play the lead in American Born Confused Desi. The first look poster was launched earlier today – a colourful rendition of Allu Shirish riding his skateboard through the streets of a city in Andhra Pradhesh. The motion poster offers more details.
Set to a rock song, the motion poster quickly transforms from a distinctly American setting to an Indian one. So bridges and picturesque American homes are replaced by dirty buildings and street dogs. Definitely everything about this situation would confuse a card carrying Desi.
The colourful motion poster also serves as a showcase for Sirish’s skateboard moves. Finally, he lands before a tea stall and executes a salute, reminding one a lot of Allu Arjun.

Reports indicate that the movie is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name starring Dulquer Salman. If this is true, then Sirish plays the son of rich immigrants from India who is forced to fly back home. His money is cut off and he learns the importance of his roots. Rukhsar Dhillon is the female lead of the movie. Rashmika Mandanna is said to be playing a very important role in the film.
The team just wrapped up a schedule in Azerbaijan. The film’s release has been scheduled for February 2019. The exact date has not been announced as yet.
A spokesperson for the film told us that the movie was a commercial entertainer that focusses on the problems faced by the youth today. “It is completely driven towards the youngsters. It is a comedy with a lot of emotional portions. It talks about the importance of one’s own roots and accepting where we all come from,” he said.
