Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn will be part of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, tentatively titled RRR. The movie, succeeding the director’s box office hit Baahubali series, stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead.
According to CE, a source close to the movie said, “Since her debut in Hindi cinema, Alia has been keen on starring in a Telugu film. She found the offer to be part of RRR, opposite NTR, irresistible, and so, although she has a slew of Hindi films in the pipeline, Alia has agreed to be a part of the project.”
The movie also has another female lead who is yet to be decided. “Search is underway for another suitable female lead. Rajamouli is keen to cast a famous actor either from Bollywood or Hollywood,” said the source.
Ajay Devgn is rumoured to have a cameo role in the film. This marks his second collaboration with the director after Naan Ee, where he had dubbed for a small segment in the Hindi version Makkhi.
Samuthirakani has also been hired for a role in the movie.
RRR is a multi-starrer with Ram Charan Teja and Junior NTR playing the lead roles. The film was announced last year, and shoot began on November 18. Speculations say that the film is based on Ramayana, with Ram Charan as Rama and Jr NTR as Ravana.
The movie is made on a rumoured budget of Rs 300 crores. It is produced by DVV Danayya who said, “There are already great expectations from the film with the Nandamuri fans, Mega fans and all moviegoers are expecting something out of the ordinary. I promise I will make sure no stone is left un-turned from my side in that regard.”
KK Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril is the art director, and MM Keeravani is the music composer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, who regularly collaborates with the director, is the editor for the film. The director’s father Vijayendra Rao is the screenwriter.
