2.0 release date confirmed; Akshay Kumar not a villain in the film

Amid speculations that the release of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer, 2.0 may get postponed to April, Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca, confirmed the release date. “As of now, the release date of the film is January 25. No change in that,” Raju Mahalingam told Scroll.

While Akshay Kumar’s look in the film hints that he plays the villain in the film, but that’s not entirely correct. Although the character had lots of negative shades, when Akshay came on board, it was toned down keeping in mind his hero image. He may sport a villainous look, but his character strives for a good cause.

Even at the press meet of the film in Dubai ahead of the audio launch, director Shankar had hinted that Akshay is not just an antagonist in the film, his character has a lot of shades to it. 

Team Saamy Square yet to find a replacement for Trisha

Trisha recently walked out of Saamy sequel citing creative differences with the team.


Now, the team is in talks with many leading heroines for the role. They might even try to rope in Trisha again. Once the female lead is finalised, Vikram who is busy with his daughter’s wedding, will resume work on Saamy Square.

According to a source, Trisha walked out of the film as she was allotted less dates for shoot when compared to Keerthy Suresh. When she came to know that her screen space had been considerably reduced, she decided to walk out.

Enai Noki Paayum Thota to release in May

Dhanush starrer Enai Noki Paayum Thota has been in the making for almost a year now. With 15 days of shoot left, director Gautham Menon has reportedly announced that the film will release three weeks after Dhruva Natchathiram’s release in April next year. A major portion of the film was shot in Turkey and after a month-long schedule, the film didn’t take off as Dhanush got busy with his Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir and Menon with Dhruva Natchathiram. The impressive teaser of the film, which was released last December, has raised the expectations for all the Dhanush fans who will have to wait some more.

Kevin  Spacey seeks medical treatment 

Actor Kevin Spacey, who is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, is now seeking evaluation and treatment. “Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment. No other information is available at this time,” Spacey’s representative told Variety.

According to a report in Deadline, classic romantic comedy, Four Weddings and a Funeral, will be adapted into a television series. The hour-long anthology series on Hulu will be written by Mindy Kaling. Like the film, the series will explore the lives of a group of friends through these five events.
