Director H Vinoth’s Ajith Kumar-starrer Nerkonda Paarvai is set to have a worldwide release on August 10. The official Tamil remake of Pink stars Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang, along with Vidya Balan in a cameo.
Ajith Kumar’s manager Suresh Chandra announced the release date on Twitter yesterday.

As reported earlier, the film was delayed because only 30 percent of the shoot was completed as of March 10. The movie went on floors last month and was initially scheduled to release on May 1, on Ajith’s birthday. But the team did not want to shoot in a hurry.

The film bagged the official remake rights of Bollywood’s Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Pink in January, and is being produced by Boney Kapoor as a dedication to his late wife, actress Sridevi. The remake will reportedly be different from the original film as the makers are planning changes to the script for the Tamil audience to connect better to the film. This is yet to confirmed.
In addition to Ajith Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sharaddha Srinath and others, the film may also star Adhik Ravichandran as one of the antagonists. Rangaraj Pandey might reprise Piyush Mishra’s role, the advocate who fought the case against Amitabh Bachchan in the original movie.
Talking about the cast, producer Boney Kapoor said in a press statement, “It’s nice to introduce Vidya Balan to the Tamil audience. She is paired with Ajith Kumar and her role is a very special. Shraddha Srinath has been displaying plenty of promise and we are casting her in the pivotal role. Rangaraj Pandey plays a very important character too.”
Arjun Chidambaram, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar also star in the film. Music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography is by Nirav Shah, and editing is by Gokul Chandran.
Nerkonda Paarvai is Ajith Kumar’s second release for the year after Viswasam.
