Aishwarya Rajesh Apologises For Speech At ‘Kanaa’ Success Meet

Aishwarya Rajesh At The 'Kanaa' Success Meet

Aishwarya Rajesh apologises for her speech at the success meet of her sports film Kanaa directed by Arunraja Kamaraj. She was trolled for saying that many films these days have success meets whether or not they are really successful.

Speaking at the event in Chennai, Aishwarya thanked the press and the Kanaa team for the film’s success. She then said, “I think this was a true success meet, unlike many other films which celebrate whether or not it was successful.”

Right after this, Sivakarthikeyan, the producer of the film, laughed and asked her to get down. The person on sound trolled by playing the song ‘Oru Thendral Puyalagi Varudhey’. She added, “There is nothing wrong in this, I told the truth and that is the fact.”

Over-all the success meet was humorous, but Aishwarya Rajesh’s comments landed her in trouble. With the fun speeches of Sathyaraj and Sivakarthikeyan that went viral, Aishwarya’s speech also triggered many responses from both the industry and others on twitter.

Responding to this, Aishwarya tweeted out an apology recently. She said it was a fun speech, she did not target any film, and didn’t intend to hurt anyone.

Kanaa was sports film about a young girl from a village who dreams of playing women’s cricket at the nationals. It starred Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead with Dharshan and Sathyaraj. The film was directed by Arunraja Kamaraj of Nerupu da fame, and produced by Sivakarthikeyan who played a cameo role.

Blade Shankar, Ilavarasu, Ramadoss, Rama and Savari Muthu had supporting roles. Music was by composer Dhibu Ninan Thomas.

Following the success of Kanaa, Aishwarya Rajesh has many films lined up. She has Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram, a spy thriller directed by Gautham Menon, and Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai directed by Rathindran R Prasad.

She has the much delayed Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Idam Porul Yaeval directed by Seenu Ramasamy. Gopi Nainar and Jai also play lead in the film. Her other projects are director Kranthi Madhav’s next with Vijay Deverakonda, Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai 2, and an untitled film by Sundaram Productions.
