The Dhanush-Karthik Subbaraj film was announced in 2017 but could not take off as the team wanted to bring in Hollywood actor Al Pacino for a role. Since his dates were not available, both Dhanush and the director moved on to other projects. It is likely that Al Pacino will join the team soon.

This is Karthik Subbaraj’s next after Rajinikanth-starrer Petta. It was originally supposed to be produced by Sri Thenandal Films, but Y Not Studios have now signed on.

Meanwhile, reports also speculate that Dhanush and Vetrimaaran’s Asuran co-starring Manju Warrier will release on October 2. This news is yet to be confirmed. Dhanush recently also clarified that Vada Chennai sequel is under production, and confirmed at a press meet that he will reunite with his brother director Selvaraghavan after eight years for a film.
