Actor Vijay Treats Auto Drivers In Chennai To Commemorate Labour Day

Actor Vijay treated auto drivers in Chennai to gifts and lunch on Saturday. Every year on International Labour Day on May 1, he organises a feast for workers. But, it got delayed due to the general elections this year, a press note from the actor’s team read.

Unlike last time, Vijay couldn’t make it to the event on Saturday because he was shooting for Thalapathy 63. However, his fan club members in Chennai carried out all the work and the head of the club, ex-MLA Bussy Anand, handed over gifts. Photos of this went viral on social media. Auto drivers thanked Vijay and wished they had met him in person.

Vijay’s fans have also begun preparations for his birthday on June 22. The shoot for Thalapathy 63 is on in full swing and the film will release as planned during Deepavali this year. According to a report by India Today, the movie has already earned Rs 28 crores with the sale of satellite rights.

Vijay, director Atlee, Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff and the Thalapathy 63 team are busy with the final 70-day schedule which began in Chennai this month. The film is an investigative thriller with a sports backdrop, and reportedly has Vijay play the captain of a women’s football team. It is said to be lighter than his previous films. This is his third collaboration with Atlee after Theri and Mersal. Varsha Bolamma, Indhuja, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu and others are said to have important roles. AR Rahman is the music composer for the film, and Vivek the lyricist.

According to latest reports, work on Thalapathy 64 has also begun. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj earlier confirmed to Silverscreen that talks with Vijay were on. Rashmika Mandanna may star as the female lead in the film. She was earlier speculated to be part of Thalapathy 63 as well. However, she clarified that she was not part of the film,  but hoped to work with Vijay in the future.
