Actor Srikanth Joins Hansika Motwani’s ‘Maha’

Srikanth, Hansika Motwani At The 'Maha' Movie Launch

The makers of the Hansika Motwani-starrer Maha have announced that Srikanth will be part of the cast. The first look poster of Maha released recently. Directed by debutant UR Jameel, Maha is Hansika’s  50th film.

Actors Karunakaran and Thambi Ramaiah play supporting roles. Music is by composer Ghibran. It is his 25th film in the industry.

Maha is a crime thriller with a woman protagonist. Director UR Jameel spoke about Srikanth’s role in the film and said in a TOI report: “He plays an important role and the character offers him ample scope to perform. It is a character that comes with an element of surprise and also demands a bit of a physical transformation. It will be a new look altogether.” He said Srikanth’s first look will be revealed in the coming days.

Denying speculations that the actor’s role was that of a villain, the director said, “No, this will be a nice role for Srikanth. Also, something that hasn’t been done previously by him. When I wrote the character, I felt that he would be apt for it as he hasn’t done something like this.”

Srikanth recently announced that he will be a part of Raai Laxmi’s Miruga, another thriller. He spoke about the movie and said, “It’s a thriller where the protagonist has shades of grey. Cinematographer MV Paneerselvam is a wonderful writer as well, and this is his script. It’s a graphics-heavy film, so we’re shooting the climax first. The climax portions will take 10 days and the VFX work will take about four months.”

Meanwhile, Hansika Motwani awaits the release of Thuppaki Munai starring her and Vikram Prabhu. She also stars opposite Atharvaa in the action thriller 100, by director Sam Anton of Darling fame. Gulaebaghavali has been Hansika’s only release so far this year.
