Actor Kishore Pradhan, Best Known For His Role in ‘Jab We Met’, Died.

Veteran Marathi and Hindi actor Kishore Pradhan died on Friday. He was 86. The reason for his death has not been confirmed yet. He was a theatre and film actor, best known for comic roles.

Kishore started acting when he was a student at Morris College in Nagpur. He participated in college festivals, and later began his own theatre group Natraj. Later in his career, he acted in over 100 Marathi plays and 18 English plays.

His most memorable film performances were in the Marathi films Lalbaug Parel by Mahesh Manjrekar, and Shivaji Raje by Bhonsle Boltoy. In Hindi he acted in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met and Rajkumar Hirani’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai. 

In Jab We Met he was famous for his role as the railway station master who told Kareena Kapoor, “Akeli ladki khuli hui tijori ki tarah hoti hai.”

Kishore was last seen in Sameer Ramesh Surve’s Marathi film Subh Lagna Savdhaan (2018).

Subodh Bhave, his co-star in Subh Lagna told Indian Express, “After the film’s release, I couldn’t keep in touch with Kishore Kaka, as he was not keeping well, and I was out shooting for my film. I don’t know the exact reason of his death yet. His family is grieving and busy with preparations for his funeral.”

Famous Marathi writer and poet, Chandrashekhar Gokhale announced his death on Facebook this Friday. He remembered Kishore for his talent of mimicking Johny Walker and Jagdip. He offered condolences.
