Action director Jagaur Thangam was injured in the head while shooting for his film India and has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. The 64 year old stunt director has been advised to take rest for the next three days.

Speaking to Silverscreen, he said, “I am currently shooting for my new movie, India. I was injured in my head a few days ago. Last Sunday, when I was shooting, the pain returned. So I came to have a check up and now doctors advised to be in their observation for three days. Other than that, I am alright. I will be resuming work very soon”.

Jaguar Thangam is currently serving as president for Film and Television Producers’ Guild of South India. Earlier in 2018, after his victory in Guild elections, there were some disputes between ace producer AM Rathnam and Thangam. The stunt director filed a complaint against the producer stating that the producer and his supporters were threatening his life and requested police protection. Meanwhile, AM Rathnam also filed a complaint against him on similar grounds. Thangam was accused of preventing other members from entering the guild office in Chennai. He also allegedly threatened vice-president AM Rathnam, when he raised objections.

The guild is a popular alternative to the Tamil Nadu Producer’s Council. According to insiders, the guild charges less for its membership and also has a more economical process for registering film titles. However, this process is not transparent, which has led to many controversies within the organisation in the past.
