Amma: A Biopic On late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa

Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, and AIADMK’s unchallenged leader, J Jayalalithaa passed away in Chennai’s Apollo Hospital on December 5th 2015, after spending close to 75 days in the hospital. This has raised many speculations. While the rumours about the death mount up on one end, National award-winning Telugu filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao is said to have registered for the title Amma

The project will be a tri-lingual, shot in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. A morphed picture of Ramya Krishnan, dressed up like the Puratchi Thalaivi – as Jayalalithaa was popularly known – did the rounds on social media. It is said the actress later expressed her desire to play Amma – her dream role. No official announcement has been made on the main lead and the rest of the crew yet.
