It was a glamorous night out for the stars at the Zee Cine Awards. Gowns, sharp suits, and lots of bling, the stars gave it all for the evening that honoured their performances throughout the year. However, the choice of winners is rather odd. Films like Lipstick Under My Burkha, A Death In The Gunj, Newton which were both box-office hits and critically acclaimed were ignored while commercial, average on content films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Golmaal Again went home with the awards.
Moreover, the fact that award shows are a way to make big stars attend the event and a mere lip services is evident from the strange categories like ‘Extraordinary impact award’ or the ‘Global icon award’ that were specially created.
Hosted by Rohit Shetty and Bhumi Pednekar, the evening saw performances by Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, and many others.
