Vishal Meets Radhikaa And Sarathkumar Ahead of Nadigar Sangam Elections

Actor Vishal met Radhikaa Sarathkumar and Sarathkumar over lunch recently, according to a report by India Glitz. This has raised curiosity because elections for the South Indian Artistes’ Association (Nadigar Sangam) are coming up, and Vishal and Sarathkumar, who contested against each other the last time, are likely to be campaigning for opposite camps once again.

A source close to Vishal, the current general secretary of the Sangam, has dismissed talks about them joining hands this time. “We haven’t heard of any such talks. Unless there’s an announcement, nothing can be said,” the source told Silverscreen.

It is believed that Vishal may have also met Radhikaa and Sarathkumar to invite them for his wedding, which is scheduled for October 9. India Today reports that Vishal announced that the wedding will be held in the new Nadigar Sangam building. The inauguration for this building was slated for March 2019, but the construction faced many hurdles and legal roadblocks that led to a delay. The building cost the Sangam Rs 35 crore. The delay is also the reason for the current office bearers – president Nasser, vice president Ponvannan, treasurer Karthi, and Vishal – extending their term by almost a year.

Meanwhile, Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi, former office bearers of the Sangam, cannot contest this election while the land misappropriation case in which they have been convicted is pending. Earlier this month, the Madras High Court ordered the Kanchipuram police to complete investigation on the case and submit its report in three months. Following this, it was speculated that Radhika Sarathkumar would contest for the post of President opposite Nasser this time, with Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi’s backing. However, actor SVe Sekhar clarified that the news was false.

As of now, Nasser, Vishal and Karthi will contest again. Actor Udhaya, who campaigned for Vishal in the last election, will be contesting against him because he is not satisfied with Vishal’s performance.

Retired judge E Padmanabhan has been appointed to preside over the elections. He will announce the dates and election venue soon.
