Vikram Is Back As The No-Nonsense Cop In Saamy Square

Kollywood actor Vikram who’s busy with his upcoming projects, Dhruva Natchathiram and pre-production of VS Vimal’s project on Karnan, shared some new stills of Saamy 2.

A sequel to the 2003 hit Saamy, it will feature Vikram in two roles –  a father and son. Keerthy Suresh in the female lead. Trisha, who was in the original film, in October last year had announced that she has walked out of director Hari’s Saamy Square, owing to creative differences. However, some reports say that she is still part of the film.

Earlier, it was reported that Vikram would reprise the character of Aarusaamy, a rigid police officer battling corruption, from the original film and the second character will be a younger Vikram, who too is a police officer.

Saamy 2 is being produced by Shibu Thameens who also bankrolled Vikram’s Irumugan. It will be the third collaboration between Vikram and Hari. The duo had worked in the 2004 film Arul. Vikram was last seen in Sketch which got mixed response. 

Harris Jayaraj composes the music for the movie and Priyan returns as the cinematographer.
