‘Vikram 58’ Update: AR Rahman To Compose Music, Cinematography May Be By Sivakumar Vijayan

Vikram At The 'Kadaram Kondan' Press Meet

Composer AR Rahman is on board for director Ajay Gnanamuthu’s upcoming film with Vikram. Latest reports say that cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan, who recently worked on NGK, has also joined the crew, although sources say nothing can be confirmed yet.

The director announced that AR Rahman was part of the film recently. AR Rahman and Vikram have previously worked on the hit albums – director Shankar’s and Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan.

Cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan, known for his films Vidiyum Munn, Irudhi Suttru and Iraivi, is likely to collaborate with Vikram and Ajay Gnanamuthu for the first time.

The rest of the cast and crew is being finalised currently, and pre-production work is on. The team recently also put out a casting call for actors.

The film was announced in May and a first-look poster also released. It featured Vikram in multiple looks, with the background of maps, sketches, photos and comic strips.

The producers, Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio and Viacom 18 Motion Studios, said that the shoot will begin in August. “This is a pan-India project for the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu audience, and will be produced on a massive scale. The cast and technicians’ list will feature big names from all industries,” they said in a statement.

Reports said Anurag Kashyap may be seen as the antagonist. This is not confirmed yet. He previously starred in the director’s Imaikkaa Nodigal, with Nayanthara, Atharvaa and others. This is Ajay Gnanamuthu’s third film after Demonte Colony (2015) and Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018).
