Television and film actor Viji Chandrasekhar’s daughter Lovelyn Chandrasekhar will soon debut as the lead in a film. Lovelyn, who is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in Dubai, will shuttle between Chennai and Dubai for the shoot.

Viji Chandrasekhar confirmed that the shoot would begin in October or November. She added that she couldn’t share much about the film as yet. “There will be something more concrete after two weeks. As of now, she’s looking forward to pursuing something she has always wanted,” Viji Chandrasekhar told Silverscreen.in. Lovelyn had wanted to act from a young age.

Viji Chandrasekhar, who won critical acclaim for her portrayal of a missing bipolar mother in Aarohanam (2012), had recently said that Lovelyn used to accompany her during shoots sometimes. Both she and her sister Saritha have been established actors in the Tamil film industry. Viji added that while it wouldn’t be easy for her, Lovelyn has prior training in acting from Anupam Kher’s acting school ‘An Actor Prepares’. She took up the course three years ago.

Viji made her debut in K Balachander’s Thillu Mullu (1981) as Rajinikanth’s character’s sister. She subsequently refrained from acting for a while as she wanted to complete her education. She started acting again in the ’90s, mostly on television. She is also known for her roles in Mani Ratnam’s Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004) and Vikram Sugumaran’s Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013).
