Vijay’s Bairavaa has once again become the target of social media memes. Many fans are attributing the delay in the release of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 to the loss incurred by Bairavaa. Baahubali 2 is expected to release worldwide on 28 April.
Sri Green Productions obtained the theatrical rights of Baahubali 2 for a sum of Rs 47 crores from SN Rajarajan of K Productions. An advance amount of Rs 30 crores was paid. However, Sri Green could not afford to pay the remaining amount reportedly due to the heavy losses incurred in the release of Bogan, Bairavaa, and Kattappava Kaanom.
Thus, at present, there is some uncertainty over the film’s release plans. Rajarajan is reportedly in last minute discussions with Sri Green to buy back the theatrical rights. But Sri Green is in no mood to renegotiate, as it has already sold the film to distributors.
Meanwhile, Bairavaa is being trolled on social media by people who blame it for the delayed release of Baahubali 2 in Tamil Nadu.
