Producer Irfan Malik of YSR Studios said in a statement, “Finally, we have wrapped shoot, and the dubbing work will be commencing shortly.”

“Vijay Sethupathi and Seenu Ramasamy have an impeccable equation for they know each others’ expectations, which I believe is one of the strongest reasons behind the completion of the shoot,” he added.

Music for the movie is by both Ilaiyaraaja and his son Yuvan Shankar Raja. Ilaiyaraaja does not usually collaborate with other composers. His last collaboration was with the late MS Viswanathan.

Sukumar, who regularly works with Seenu Ramasamy, is the cinematographer of the project. Producer Malik said, “Cinematographer Sukumar sir is a boon to a filmmaker and he never misses to add the Midas Touch for Seenu Ramasamy’s movies and I firmly believe this too is not going to be an exception.”

The film marks the fourth collaboration between the actor and director. Their previous films were Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010), which won the National Award for Best Film, Dharma Durai (2016), and the yet-to-be-released Idam Porul Yaeval.

According to the director, the new film talks about social and religious harmony; “perhaps two of the most important concepts for the people,” he said.

“This movie has taken a long time to shape up and that’s really because a story such as this needed some time to exist and breathe. We have started shoot and we plan to keep at it till we get some major work done,” he had told Silverscreen.

Guru Somasundaram takes on an important role as Vijay Sethupathi’s friend in the film. “Guru plays a Muslim man while Vijay is a Hindu in the movie. The film explores religious harmony through their relationship. There’s also Gayathri as the female lead. She plays a woman who drops out of tenth standard to take up work and support her family.”

While an announcement about the title of the film has not been made yet, there are rumours that the film is called Maamanithan.
