Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu will team up with actor Silambarasan for a new film. Suresh Kamatchi produces the film and Prabhu announced on social media that the film will have a ‘fresh script’ and will not be a sequel to any of his earlier work.

STR is currently busy wrapping up Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. He is in talks with Vijaya Studios for a new film and is also expected to team up with Kalaipuli S Thanu’s production house for a movie. Recently, a photo of STR and director Karthick Naren sparked rumours that the duo were contemplating a film together.
Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu’s Party is readying for a release. The film has an ensemble cast headlined by Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, Shiva, Jai, Chandran among others. Music is by Premgi Amaren. Amma Productions’ T Siva produces this film that was entirely filmed on the Fiji Islands.
