Director Sakthivel Perumalsamy has claimed that the trailer of his film Urumeen has not been approved by the CBFC because of one line – ‘Revenge is always ultimate’. Furious with the decision, the director wrote on his personal social media page:
First time in the history of Tamil cinema (I think) our movie URUMEEN trailer is refused by Censor board just because of one sentence REVENGE IS ALWAYS ULTIMATE…Totally useless rules and arguments…there r lot of movies using bad words, sexual and violence content but I don’t know what’s happening here…
The team has requested that a Revising Committee review the trailer again, and are hopeful of a more positive response. Starring Bobby Simha, Reshmi Menon and Kalaiarasan, the narrative revolves around a young man who gets caught in a dangerous situation. Urumeen marks National Award winning actor Bobby Simha’s debut as the hero.
