Bihar Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav voiced support to Super 30 founder Anand Kumar after former students accused him of fraud. Actor-politician Shatrugnan Sinha too came out in support of Kumar.
“Every Bihari is proud of Anand’s achievements & awards. He has brought laurels for the State thru his hard work & dedication. Many promising students facing abject poverty hv been gifted a new life through his vision, help & timely guidance,” the RJD leader said in a tweet.

He also called the accusations a well-hatched conspiracy by Kumar’s failed competitors.
Under a well hatched conspiracy few highly self centric, narrow minded, incompetent & failed competitors are trying to sabotage hard earned reputation of Super-30 fame Sh. Anand Kumar with help of their social capital.

Anand Kumar, the math wizard behind Super 30, has been accused of fraud by his former students, according to whom only three and not 26 as claimed by him cleared IIT – JEE 2018.
These students claimed that Kumar had begun teaching elsewhere too and that he asked them to enrol there instead of at Super 30. They also said that he made close to Rs. 1 crore from teaching at this place.

Super 30 was founded by Kumar in 2002. The programme picks 30 students from backward classes and provides them training for the Joint Entrance Exam, the entrance test to IITs. Kumar provides food, accommodation and books for the duration of the course.
In 2008, the entire batch managed to clear the exams. This feat was repeated in 2009 and 2017. Time magazine feted the programme in its ‘Best of Asia 2010’ list.
Vikas Bahl, who directed the much-celebrated Queen, is making a biopic on Kumar’s life. Starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, the movie is slated to release on January 25, 2019.
