‘Bhaagamathie’ Audio Launch & ‘Thaanna Serndha Koottam’ Success Meet: A Confluence Of Tamil Stars

Wednesday (January 17) evening was a busy one for all those covering cinema in Chennai. On one side, there were two stalwarts and aspiring politicians – Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan – sharing a dais, where Rajinikanth indicated that he can be ready for election in six months if need be, and on the other side, there was the mega event launched by production house Studio Green.

The event was a convergence of stars which started with the launch of a single audio track from Ghajinikanth, followed by the release of a song from Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu, starring Oviya and Gautham Karthik. The success meet of Thaanna Serndha Koottam was then held and the evening culminated with the audio release of the much-anticipated Bhaagamathie.

Bhaagamathie, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, has Anushka Shetty in the lead. It’s her first film after the Baahubali series. Directed by G Ashok, the movie is touted to be a horror thriller. The cast and crew members of the movie were present with actor Suriya unveiling the audio.

While music composer S Thaman claimed it is one of his best works, lyricist Vivek said, “The lyrics represent today’s women and talk about empowerment.” He cited the example of a song from Jyothika’s 36 Vayadhinile. Director Ashok and Anushka promised that the story of Bhaagamathie will be as big as Baahubali.

Apart from Anushka, the movie stars Unni Mukundan, Jayaram and Asha Sharath and is set to release on January 26.

It was also a reunion for Anushka and Ramya Krishnan who were last seen together in Rajamouli’s magnum opus. Also, in attendance were Suriya, Arya, Anirudh Ravichander, Gauthik Karthik and many other members of the fraternity.

At the Thaanna Serndha Koottam success meet, Suriya said that he’s looking forward to playing such characters in future, while director Vignesh ShivN said that the team is surprised with the response the film and its songs got from people outside Tamil Nadu.

Songs from director Santhosh P. Jayakumar’s Ghajinikanth and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu were also released. Ghajinikanth, starring Arya, follows the life of a die-hard fan of Rajinikanth and the film is set to release in March.

Gautham Karthik, who stars in the adult-horror-comedy Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu, said that the movie will be a fun ride.
