Vishal’s Aambala is in legal trouble over its title. A filmmaker named Harikrishnan has submitted a petition seeking a stay order against movie, claiming that he had registered the title Aambala a few years ago.

The Aambala team is currently in talks with Harikrishnan to amicably resolve the issue. With the movie scheduled to release in two days, advance bookings have already begun in most theatres across Tamil Nadu. A stay order against the movie would be catastrophic.
When reached for comment, Vishal’s spokesperson told Silverscreen that Aambala ‘will definitely release this Pongal’ and that ‘the issues are being ironed out’.
Directed by Sundar C, Aambala stars Vishal and Hansika Motwani. The movie also has Ramya Krishnan, Aishwarya and Kiran Rathod sharing screenspace with the lead pair. Hip hop Tamizha make their music composing debut with this project.
