Velaikkaran Audio Launch: Sivakarthikeyan Vows Never To Do Advertisements Again

The audio launch of Velaikkaran was a grand one that took place in Chennai’s top five star hotel, attended by all the A-listers in the movie including lead actor Sivakarthikeyan, and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The audio launch witnessed performances by the the young composer and the female singers on board for the project, including one of Dubsmash fame Mrinalini Ravi.

In Velaikkaran, Sivakarthikeyan sheds his Remo image, to take on the greedy CEOs and probably lead the Tamil workers to a revolution. At the launch, he vowed never to endorse products again.

“I have decided that I won’t endorse any brands and act in advertisements henceforth in my career. The reason behind my decision is a crucial scene in the film, which I can’t reveal it now. A real-life doctor has also performed in the sequence, which left the entire team in tears. I don’t want to convey a wrong message to anyone. I would like to be a responsible person and don’t want people to be misguided through my ads,” he said.

The film is Mohan Raja’s turn to deviate from the norm. Velaikkaran marks the Tamil debut of Fahadh Faasil. Cinematography for the film is by Ramji. Actors Rohini, Vijay Vasanth, Sneha – all have pivotal roles in this film.

AR Murugadoss’ Next Is Likely To Be A Hollywood Remake

AR Murugadoss is reportedly making a remake of the Oscar-winning film Million Dollar Baby in Hindi, starring Akshay Kumar and TV actress Marina Kuwar. According to an IANS report, Akshay will play Clint Eastwood’s role and Marina will play that of Hilary Swank’s in the remake.

Call Me By Your Name Wins Best Picture Awarded By The Los Angeles Film Critics Association

Call Me By Your Name has been named the Best Picture of 2017 by the Los Angeles Critics Association. The romantic coming-of-age film is based on the 2007 novel of the same name by André Aciman. The film is about Elio Perlman (played by Timothée Chalamet), a 17-year-old living in Italy, and his father’s American assistant, Oliver (played by Armie Hammer). The film also stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar, Esther Garrel, and Victoire Du Bois.

The association also awarded The Shape of Water for Best Cinematography, Phantom Thread for Best Music/Score, Willem Dafoe in The Florida Project for Best Supporting Actor,  Laurie Metcalf in Lady Bird for Best Supporting Actress. Read the full list of winners here.

Sunny Leone In A Tamil Film

Sunny Leone, who has been acting in Bollywood recently, has ventured towards Tamil films now. The actress will soon be seen in her first straight Tamil film directed by V C Vadivudayan. The project will be produced by Ponse Stephen of Steeves Corner.

The film is an untitled period war film for which she will be learning how to sword fight. The film will also include 70 minutes of CGI effects by the same company who did for Baahubali and 2.0.

Actors Nasser and Navdeep are part of the cast too, with the male lead yet to be finalised. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
