Samuthirakani might join the sets of director SS Rajamouli’s RRR for the second round of shoot which begins on January 19.
The actor-director was last seen as a gangster in Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai. RRR will mark his Telugu debut.
According to reports, the first round of shoot began on November 18 and is complete. It was reported that Keerthy Suresh has been offered the role of goddess Sita in the film. Actor Priyamani might have an important role too. No confirmation has been by the film makers or actors yet.
RRR is a multi-starrer with Ram Charan Teja and Junior NTR playing lead roles. The film was announced last year, and shoot began on November 18. Speculations say that the film is based on Ramayana, with Ram Charan as Rama and Jr NTR as Ravana.
The movie is made on a rumoured budget of Rs 300 crores. It is produced by DVV Danayya who said in an Indian Express report, “There are already great expectations from the film with the Nandamuri fans, Mega fans and all moviegoers are expecting something out of the ordinary. I promise I will make sure no stone is left un-turned from my side in that regard.”
KK Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril is the art director, and MM Keeravani is the music composer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, who regularly collaborates with the director, is the editor for the film. The director’s father Vijayendra Rao is the screenwriter.
Samuthirakani is currently working on Kennedy Club, a sports drama directed by Suseenthiran starring Bharathiraja, Sasikumar, Gayathrie and Soori in pivotal roles. He also has Peranbu directed by Ram, Kolanji – a comedy drama by Dhanaram Saravanan, and his own directorial Pettikadai and Kitna.
