Sai Pallavi may star as Sasikala in AL Vijay’s biopic on J Jayalalitha. She made her Tamil debut with director AL Vijay in the film Karu. She was recently seen as Aranthu Anandhi in Maari 2, and her performance in the film still being appreciated.
According to a report, she is being considered for the role of VK Sasikala, the best companion of former late CM Jayalalithaa. Speculations say actress Vidya Balan might play the lead role of Jayalalithaa. There is no official confirmation from the makers or the actors yet.
About five biopics on Jayalalithaa’s life have already been announced. Director Gautham Menon is said to be planning a TV series based on Jayalalithaa’s political journey.
One of the biopics directed by Priyadharshini, titled The Iron Lady stars Nithya Menen in the titular role. It is set to go on floors on February 24, 2019, on Jayalalithaa’s birthday. It is also said that talks are on to cast Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as Sasikala in Priyadarshini’s biopic.
Directors Bharathiraja and Lingusamy had earlier announced biopics on Jayalalithaa, but there have been no updates on this.

It was reported earlier that director Gautham Menon, who is gearing up for the release of his much delayed film Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta, will focus on the political and personal life of the former AIADMK chief. The series might feature Ramya Krishnan as Jayalalithaa. Popular Malayalam actor Indrajith will be seen as MGR, say reports.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi has reportedly signed her next project in Telugu. The film is directed Venu Udugala of Needi Nadi Oke Katha fame. It stars Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi, and is a love story set in the 1990s. Speculations say Sai Pallavi plays a Naxalite and Rana Daggubati is a cop.
